Literature From The Street, For The People.

We're looking for Edge. Words about The Struggle. Words about The Gutters. Everyday people. Everyday things. Working 9-5, 9-7, or 24/7. Raising kids in this. Holding relationships together. The balance. The dizzying. The emotions that spill out and the ones we keep buried. Your childhood tales. Your family woes. And the things that somehow salvage it. It'’s all worth it — because of where we came from.

Best way to work us out? Read the site. Here's a teaser... We're into poetry on funeral runs on Tecate Reds, nonfiction that stares death in the face in the emergency room, childhood revenge stories told through tiny skeletons and flies. And the kind of quiet, devastating love that only people who’ve been broke together can write about.

You can find word counts and more specific guidelines on respective pages.

Accepted work gets the StreetLit pixel treatment: an individualized pixel animation video created in-house to accompany your piece online. See our website for cool examples.

Multiple and simultaneous submissions are allowed.

Please submit multiple pieces separately to account for reading fees.
